Russ Wildlife Area
Lying just adjacent to the Wside of Thorpe Park, the Russ Area is a fine example of past glacial activity in North Central Iowa- containing a 40-acre marsh surrounded by rolling hills. Oak timber covers some of the hills, as do areas of natural and restored prairie grasses. A mowed trail winds through the area, and an observation deck along the trail provides visitors with a panoramic view- perfect for observing many species of wildlife!
