Panicum Prairie WMA
Panicum Prairie is a public hunting area of 315 acres consisting of seasonal wetlands and restored uplands, with small pockets of mixed timber and willow bats. This area in located next to the Minnesota border and part of the management area is located in Minnesota. Please make sure you know which side of the border you are on. Not knowing could be very costly in fines.
Location
West of Northwood on Hwy 105 to Mallard Ave, turn north and go to 510th St./State line road, go west 100 yards to driveway.
Features
The restored uplands consist mainly of native grasses, and the seasonal wetlands make for soggy walking during the spring and wet falls. The Timber is mixed hardwoods. There is an evergreen planting south of the food plot, and many thick willow bats for winter cover for the pheasants.
