Bats of Iowa & Bat House Night Hike

Event Summary

Come and join our County Naturalist for a presentation on the Bats of Iowa and White Nose Syndrome.

• Where did this disease come from and why is it such a threat to our native bats?
• Why are bats so important to humans?
• Come and find out the answer to these questions at Shelter 1 in the park.
• Free Bat house plans will be available for people to take.
• We will have the presentation in Shelter 1 and then hike to Shelter 2 to observe bats coming and going from the bat houses near Shelter 2.
• This program is for all ages of people who like bats or are just interested in bats.
• If you have a Bat costume feel free to wear it.
