The Department is managed by the Ida County Conservation Board (ICCB), by means of the Iowa code chapter 350. ICCB's mission: to acquire, maintain, and make available to the residents of the county: parks, recreational areas, playgrounds, wildlife, and other conservation areas; to encourage conservation of natural resources; and to promote and preserve the health and welfare of the people. We proudly serve and welcome the community for conservation education, recreation, and involvement!

Ida County is nestled in the gently rolling hills of northwest Iowa - truly, a well-kept secret. Facilities in Ida County
Ida County Conservation facilities offer an awesome get away for outdoor recreation and events! We have 3 cabins and 2 enclosed shelters for public use! ICCB manages 50 campground sites (electric and primitive) at two parks, two great fishing lakes, more then 8 miles of gorgeous trails, a beach, and wildlife habitat areas!
The Ida County Conservation Center, is the newest feature to Moorehead Park. It has a children's activity corner, the Lipton Bird Room, bird viewing area, fish tanks, mammal mounts, and a kitchenette for events. The Conservation Center is a home base for all of our environmental education programs and is available for rentals.
The Lodge is our primary enclosed shelter for events in Crawford Creek Recreation Area. It's a great place for family gatherings and to experience Ida County's great outdoors!
