Green Iowa AmeriCorps

Position #1: Green Iowa AmeriCorps Natural Resources Aid 

Position Outline: Jackson County Conservation is seeking a team member with a desire to work with natural resources by working with JCC staff to plan and conduct conservation management activities on JCC properties. The AmeriCorps Member will also assist in planning and presenting environmental education programs for students and groups. The Member will engage with volunteers in the community through service projects. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual to gain experience in the fields of conservation, natural resources, and environmental education. The duty percentage breakdown for this position will be 75% natural resources management 25% environmental education. 

Position #2: Green Iowa AmeriCorps Naturalist

Position Outline: Jackson County Conservation is seeking a team member with good communication skills, a desire to serve youth and diverse groups of people, and a passion for community stewardship. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual to gain experience in the fields of conservation, natural resources, and environmental education. The AmeriCorps Member will work with Jackson County Conservation staff in planning and presenting environmental education programs for students and groups. The Member will engage with volunteers in the community through service projects and support the enhancement and conservation of natural resources at county parks. The duty percentage breakdown for this position will be 75% environmental education 25% natural resources management. 


Volunteer Opportunities

Become a Conservation Board Member
Volunteer terms are 5 years for our 5-member board. One position becomes available each January. Apply by December 31st. Meetings are held monthly the 3rd Tuesday at 5:00 pm. Most meetings are held at the Hurstville Interpretive Center; some meetings are held at county parks throughout the year. Click here for an application
