Hurstville Recreation Trail
The Hurstville Recreation Trail takes you north of the City of Maquoketa. Hike, jog, or bike this paved, 10-foot wide path.
Location
Currently in two sections, you can access the trail on the north side of Maquoketa where Hurstville Road/Main Street crosses the Maquoketa River (parking lot is on the north side of the bridge) and from the parking lot at the Hurstville Interpretive Center.

Phase 1: the bridge over the Maquoketa River was built in 2016 and the first 0.5 mile of trail from Maquoketa was constructed in 2017. Currently it ends at 55th St.
Phase 2: 0.2 miles extends from the parking lot at the Hurstville Interpretive Center, heading east through the prairie. This section ends at the corner of Hurstville Road and 63rd Street.
Phase 3: COMING SOON! Our Board is working on connecting the two sections for another 0.5 miles of trail along Hurstville Road. Once complete, trail users can walk or bike from the City of Maquoketa to the Hurstville Center on a safe off road trail.
