Phase 1: the bridge over the Maquoketa River was built in 2016 and the first 0.5 mile of trail from Maquoketa was constructed in 2017. Currently it ends at 55th St.
Phase 2: 0.2 miles extends from the parking lot at the Hurstville Interpretive Center, heading east through the prairie. This section ends at the corner of Hurstville Road and 63rd Street.
Phase 3: COMING SOON! Our Board is working on connecting the two sections for another 0.5 miles of trail along Hurstville Road. Once complete, trail users can walk or bike from the City of Maquoketa to the Hurstville Center on a safe off road trail.
Friends of Jackson County Conservation is raising money to use as matching dollars for grants to build the last section of trail. We appreciate any and all donations! Donations can be made online or sent to 18670 63rd Street Maquoketa, Iowa 52060.
