Camping


Kossuth County offers 3 different campgrounds: Smith Lake, Siems Park, and Burt Lake.

  • Smith Lake -- 3 miles north of Algona on the west side of Highway 169. Smith Lake Park offers two Campgrounds within in the park, Smith Lake South Campground and Smith Lake North Campground.

> $15/night for electric sites, $10/night for Non-Electric (Tent sites)

> Modern bath facilities; flush toilets, showers, sinks

      > $2,000 for the season (April-October) OR $500 monthly (30 days), OR $20/night

      > Applications for those wanting to stay the entire season are taken in late winter

  • Burt Lake -- 4 miles west of Swea City on Highway 9, then 8 miles north on 40th Ave.
