About Water’s Edge Nature Center Foundation (WENCF)

The Water’s Edge Nature Center Foundation was formed in 2002 as a nonprofit group to promote and support the Kossuth County Conservation Board (KCCB). The Foundation has successfully raised funds for the completion of the nature center and continues to provide funds for displays, furnishings, and educational programs to promote environmental education in the county. Expert speakers have provided programs for all ages and have included topics on eagles, insects, trees, and historic re-enactors. The Foundation also provides funding for field trips for elementary students in Kossuth County and awards scholarships to graduating seniors choosing to study in the fields of environmental science and education.

Your Gift Keeps on Giving

The Water’s Edge Nature Center Foundation Endowment Fund was established with the Kossuth County Community Foundation to benefit the activities of Water’s Edge Nature Center. Because the fund is an endowed fund with the Community Foundation, the donated dollars are invested, and only the income from the fund is granted out.
