Glissman Conservation Area
Glissman Conservation Area is approximately 5 miles
southwest of Adel along the Raccoon River Greenbelt. Enjoy the outdoors as you
experience a diversity of wildlife and plant species in peaceful seclusion.
Recreational opportunities include fishing, hiking, canoeing/kayaking, bird
watching, picnicking, and mushroom hunting.
Additionally, Glissman Lodge is located at Glissman Conservation Area. The whole family can enjoy peaceful seclusion and
outdoor recreation, while having access to the modern amenities of home.

·From Adel, go west on County Road F60 (Old Hwy
6) approximately 3 miles to Panther Creek Road
·Turn south on Panther Creek Rd and proceed
approx. 1 mile to a T-intersection.
·Turn left (east) to stay on Panther Creek Rd. Go
east for approx. ¼ mile, then turn back to the right (south).
·The entrance to the area is on the right (west)
side of the road, just before the road bends to the east.

Operating Hours & Seasons
Glissman Conservation Area is open ½ hour before sunrise and closed at 10:00 p.m. each day.
Glissman Lodge is available to rent May through October, with April and November rentals possible if weather conditions permit.
Closures
The gate remains locked unless there is a interpretive program in session; however, you are welcome to park your vehicle at the gate and walk in.
