Linn Creek Recreational Trail

The Linn Creek Recreational Trail is a hard-surfaced linear trail built mainly on the dike along Linn Creek and the Iowa River in Marshalltown. The trail and several short loops link areas which provide a variety of outdoor diversions: Riverview Park with camping, disc golf, tennis & basketball courts, dog park, sculptures; Nicholson-Ford OHV Park; the Marshalltown Family Aquatic Center; the MEGA 10 Park with Children’s Discovery Garden; Skatepark & pump track; graffiti wall, adult softball and Little League baseball diamonds and the Grimes Farm and Conservation Center.  Trail users may observe views of river bottom timberland and marshes, as well as prairie grasses and wildflowers.

The trail is a collaborative project of the City of Marshalltown, Marshall County Conservation Board, and Region Six Planning Commission.

Recently, the trail was connected to the Highway 30 trail and the Heart of Iowa Trail at Rhodes.
