Smithtown Church is the last remaining building of the town of Burgess, Iowa. It was built in 1874 is on the National Historic Register. Today, renovations of the Church are being made by the Smithtown Church Association in cooperation with the Clinton County Conservation Board. The church may be rented for events such as weddings, baptisms, funerals and family reunions. Heating and air conditioning have been added to the church for year round comfort.
Location
Smithtown Church is located at 1223 125th Street, Lost Nation, Iowa 52254. It is approximately 2 miles west, then 2 miles north of Lost Nation or 2 miles south of Eden Valley Park.
Amenities
The Bunkhouse is in an isolated portion of the park. It is a 1/4 mile hike to the cabin from the parking area. Bunkhouse renters must pack in all of their supplies. Mattresses are provided, but you must bring your own bedding. Water is not available at the Bunkhouse. Bunkhouse users must haul in their own water. Water is available in the main campground. A pit toilet is located near the bunkhouse. Bunkhouse guests may also use the main campground shower house.

Facilities are available between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. All visitors and guests must leave the church grounds by no later than 10:00 pm..

The Church is available year round but may be closed from time to time for ongoing renovations.
