Smith Lake Enclosed Shelter - South Campground
The Smith Lake enclosed shelter is available for anyone to use on a first come first served basis. It can also be reserved for a fee of $50. Reservations must be made at least 3 days prior to the desired date of use. It is the responsibility of the renter to contact KCCB staff at 515-295-2138 to make arrangements to pick up the key. There are restrooms attached. Inside the shelter are:

- 120 v outlets
- 1 - 30 amp outlet
- operating windows
- air conditioning
- garbage cans
- good lighting
- broom and dust pan
- concrete floor for easy cleanup
- attached restrooms
Outside the shelter are:
- fire rings
- large charcoal grill
- more picnic tables
- water hydrant
Check-In / Out Availability Check-in is after 08:00 AM and check-out is before 10:30 PM.
Location
The shelter is located in the Smith Lake campground.
When traveling to and from the campground shelter:
- PLEASE DRIVE SLOWLY.
- We have many small children that use the campground, and they do not always watch for traffic like they should.
- THE SPEED LIMIT THROUGHOUT THE PARK IS 5 MPH FOR THE CHILDREN'S SAFETY

Fees
The enclosed shelter at Smith Lake is available for reservations for $50 per day.
Hours of Operation & Seasons
The shelter is available for use anytime during the camping season between the hours of 8 AM and 10:30 PM. The campground normally opens around April 15th, and closes around October 31st, depending on the weather.
Water and restrooms may not be available early and late in the season due to freezing temperatures.
